ABOUT Lessons

Infant Swimming Resources Self-Rescue™ survival swimming program is a 4-6 week course, scheduled 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, for 10 minutes each day. Lessons are $80 a week + a one time $105 NONREFUNDABLE registration fee.

With a focus on safe, customized, one-on-one lessons by certified Instructors, ISR’s survival swimming lessons emphasize health, ongoing program evaluations and parent education to deliver the most effective and safest results in the industry.

Children may begin lessons at 6 months of age until 6 years old.

Infants (6 months-12 months): Rollback to Float

Infants will learn the Rollback to Float. This will teach your baby how to independently roll themselves onto their back if ever face down in the water to safely breathe, rest and float on their back until help arrives.

solid Walkers (1 year-6 years): Swim float swim

Solid walkers will learn the Swim Float Swim sequence. This will teach your child to swim underwater until they need to breathe, roll onto their backs for a few rested breaths, then swim starting the sequence again until they reach the steps, side of pool, or shoreline.

Once your child is fully skilled they will practice ISR’s survival techniques fully clothed during lessons.

After the initial course, you can enroll your child in refresher or maintenance lessons. These are highly recommended and are described below.

REFRESHERS & MAINTENANCE

Refresher Lessons

ISR recommends that all students return to an ISR Instructor at least once a year (preferably at the beginning of the swim season) for Refresher Lessons.

Children grow physically, emotionally, and mentally very quickly in the first six years of their lives. Their center of gravity will change as their limbs become longer and their concept of water changes as their brains become more advanced. Refresher Lessons help your students assimilate their new growing bodies and minds to the skills they previously learned so they can continue to swim/float safely and effectively.

Previous Swim-Float-Swim students will take approximately 2 weeks to complete

Previous Rollback-to-Float students, refresher lessons will likely take approximately 3-4 weeks

Maintenance Lessons

These lessons are for children who have already completed survival lessons. Maintenance lessons help students to maintain their skills and confidence throughout the year. Ideally, maintenance lessons should be scheduled at the intervals recommended by the instructor, ranging from once or once every other week.

These lessons are highly recommended.

If it has been longer than 3 months since your last ISR lesson, you will want to look into Refresher Lessons.
